Castrol GF-6 Update - Part 1

Development of ILSAC GF-6, the new passenger car oil specification, is continuing to take shape. First allowable use of the GF-6 specification is targeted for December 2017. This date is dependent on a number of factors, but the two key factors are the completion of the new Heavy Duty oil specification (PC-11) and the development and completion of new tests for the GF-6 spec. The goal of Motor Oil Matters is to ensure that drivers are always getting the right motor oil for their vehicles.  API has established a motor oil chain of custody that ensures distributors are able to identify and certify the oil they are delivering is the correct oil for customers’ vehicles.
