Casey Automotive
Casey Automotive in Palatine looks a lot different these days. Steve Casey, shop owner, invested in a brand new, environmentally-friendly shop that opened on December 1, 2010. The new building was built at the existing Casey's Palatine location and expanded to 8,500 square feet.
"We've been at this location since 1984 and expansion became a necessity. We needed the ability to service more vehicles and we needed additional parking for our customers," explained Mike Bruens, General Manager of Casey Automotive in Palatine and member of the Automotive Service Association of Illinois (ASA-IL) Board of Directors. "We have very dedicated customers who have been coming to us for years. We wouldn't have had the opportunity to expand our business if we didn't have such a strong customer base."
The new shop, located at 138 N. Northwest Highway in Palatine, took nearly eight months to build but was well worth the wait. "Our previous shop had eight bays, now we have 12 and have had no problem filling the bays," Bruens said. "We also hired two new full-time mechanics and L1 master technicians. Our increased capacity and additional shop staff have helped accommodate our customers' automotive needs." Casey Automotive, in business for over 25 years in the Northwest suburbs of Chicago, has been a regular member of ASA-IL for six years.
The shop's eco-friendly features include Styrofoam™ walls and waste oil heaters for increased energy efficiency. The roof is constructed with a special material that will not allow the temperature of the roof to rise higher than the building's interior temperature. Make-up air units ventilate the building and circulate interior air more efficiently. And, all automotive fluids are recycled.
Bruens credits owner Steve Casey with going the extra mile by not only investing in new building improvements but also with providing his employees with ongoing educational opportunities to keep staff up-to-date on the latest trends in the automotive industry.
"Over the years, Steve has made an incredible investment in his business by purchasing new shop tools and equipment that allow us to quickly and accurately diagnose vehicle issues," Bruens said. "He's also stepped up and provided his mechanics and technicians with continuing education. These rewards have definitely paid off for Casey Automotive."
Casey Automotive is a family-owned business with shops in Palatine, Streamwood and Arlington Heights. Bruens is the General Manager of all three locations.
